In order to participate successfully in The Learning Choice Academy, you must follow attendance policies which include:

1. Completion and submission of Learning Records
2. Participate in Educational Partner (credentialed teacher), student, and parent progress conferences approximately every 20 school days
3. Commit to our philosophy of providing direct involvement in the education and instruction of children

Veteran homeschool parents and credentialed teachers helped to develop our home school program in order to assist parents who want to provide quality education to their children. The school parents elect school board members - even if they do not reside in the San Diego Unified School District’s boundaries.  This means that major decisions for our school are not determined by a separate panel of members with invested interest in a district or bound by the district residency regulations.

The Learning Choice Academy is a proud member of A+Plus, a consortium of Personalized Learning schools dedicated to providing forward thinking philosophies that help students succeed. Statewide school systems benefit as TLC innovations are adopted throughout California!

TLC Academy attempts to listen to the ideas parents, students and staff present. Every year the school works hard to create new programs and modify the current year’s options to match the expressed interests and concerns of its members. We are proud of our unique ability to appreciate the desires of our homeschooling community and initiate diverse alternatives.

TLC Academy has a selected Core Curriculum from which families may choose what is best for each child.

Students may select from a wide variety of materials, including state-adopted textbooks, thematic units, hands-on learning kits, and materials developed especially for Homeschool or individualized instruction.

Special Requests

Parents may also request special materials specific to their student’s needs.

Enrollment is open to all families living within the San Diego, Riverside, Orange and Imperial Counties.

Although proof of residency is required, it is not necessary to have an inter-district transfer from your current district.

Admission to The Learning Choice Academy is considered without regard to ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, or achievement level.
